I Have a 2 year Old. No matter how many times I say it, I guess it is just shocking to me because it feels like I just left the hospital with her. 2 years gone by and add another baby in there — WOW! Yes I believe I will have this feeling at everyone of their birthdays … so I better just get used to it.
We had Vivienne’s SECOND birthday at home with just family. And when I say just family I mean 6 kids and 14 adults, in our tiny 2 bedroom upstairs apartment, so our little family affair was filled with many people that we love dearly.
When I was thinking about birthday “theme” I just think how much I really dislike themes. I walk through Party City with everything neatly organized by theme and I while I see where it is convenient if your kid LOVES any TV character — my kid watches like no TV and that is by no accident. Her first birthday was really just birthday/pink themed. I was looking around and thought balloons is generic enough, but helium is expensive if you want LOTS of balloons, so then it hit me – BALLOON PIT. Our dining room is actually perfect for it. I thought that she may have more fun with it in a few year, but help me if we still live here in a few years. And we can’t make a balloon pit in our future 1,000 sq feet foyer (ah I kid and dream). So after a garden net, about 15 screw hooks, 350 balloons, 4 adults blowing up balloons for about 2.5 hours this was the end result:
